In a superset, you do two different exercises immediately after each other without rest in between.?♀️?♀️
Supersets are supposed to save you time, help increase volume, spike hormone levels, and make your progress faster; usually, they do one of these… maybe: they save time ⏱, but at the expense of exercise quality.
There is a smart way ? to save time with supersets, of course: working antagonistic muscles—muscles that perform exactly opposing movements ??—immediately after each other sacrifices nothing in performance and may even let you handle a little more resistance (Robbins et. al., 2010: Agonist-Antagonist Paired Set Resistance Training: A Brief Review).
